Dr. Mills, is a California Board Licensed Acupuncturist & Herbalist with over 20 years experience in health and human services.  In addition to completing professional medical education in acupuncture, herbology, and biomedicine, his educational background includes undergraduate and graduate education and training in psychology and biology.  He has worked in both inpatient and community based settings, and has been responsible for both direct service provision to patients and clients as well as the development and training of staff performing direct services.  Having a developed interest in mind body connections and the role of health psychology and behavioral medicine in patients recovery it was a natural transition to study Acupuncture and Asian Medicine.  

 

While originally from Chicago, he has lived on the West Coast with his wife for over 10 years. He is an avid outdoors enthusiast who enjoys mountain biking, surfing, camping, and hiking.

 

Dr. Mills truly enjoys effectively treating and assisting patients in engaging and empowering themselves actively working towards achieving their health and wellness goals.

In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Aaron Mills, DACM, LAC, Dipl. OM, has completed graduate training in laboratory analysis, systemic pathology, report writing, diet, nutrition, and its use in the treatment of functional medical conditions.   While attending Pacific College of Health Sciences during his training as a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine he completed an intensive on-site internship supervised by a ND (Naturopathic Doctor) and a DO (Doctor of Osteopathy).  Dr. Mills has post-graduate training in Functional Medicine and completed the FBCA (Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis) Mastery Training, which specifically focused on;

 

  • Blood Testing, Biomarker and Functional Medicine Approach

  • G.I. Function

  • Liver and Gallbladder Function

  • Red Blood Cell Function & Nutritional Anemias

  • Nutrient Deficiencies

  • Blood Sugar Regulation

  • Adrenal and Kidney Function

  • Cardiovascular Function and Inflammation

  • Sex Hormone and Prostate Function

  • FBCA Foundational Practice & Implementation

 

These training modules covered 14 organ systems, 50 key metabolic FBCA patterns, and more than 100 individual blood biomarkers.
